Ok, I want to drop a line 2 let you know (well, as much as I can) about several upcoming projects I will be inking. First, I am inking issue #3 of Judo Girl for Bluewater Productions, penciled by my good friend, Gregg Paulsen. Next, he and I will team up again for Arcana's "Koni Confidential", a miniseries that will be out in 2010. I am also inking an undisclosed project for some very good friends of mine. I can't speak on it yet (pesky non-disclosure agreement), but it will definitely be different and not the usual superhero fare.
I've also been very fortunate lately to have been in contact with several well-known pencilers who dig my work. It is always rewarding to recieve accolades from those u admire and respect. Andy Smith, Khoi Pham, and Sanford Greene especially come to mind (gents, we need to work on something soon!)
You may have noticed a certain wall-crawler at the top of the page (no, I'm not inking for Marvel...maybe I should start a campaign). Those are inks I did over penciler Carlos Gomez, whose work is featured on Deviant Art. He has a VERY clean and bouncy style, so I just had to ink his cover. Another great artist I recently met is Mike Debalfo, who is doing some STELLAR cover work for Zenescope. Mike and I began a dialogue and I recently (as of tonight, actually) inked one of his covers for a sample. I will post it here tomorrow so you can check it out.
There are also a few other projects in the works: I will post details on those when the time is appropriate.
I am still pushing as an Inker, despite the negative turn (it seems) that some publishers are going the "pencil 2 color" route. Inking in an artform all unto itself. Sadly, not alot of people understand EXACTLY how much work goes into it. I love it with a passion and believe that one day soon, I will be working on a major title: all I can do is continue to hone my craft, work steadily and professionally, and pray.
So, on that note: glad you decided to check out my site and feel free to drop me a line with a comment, critique or whatever!
B smooth,
Le Beau
